How much is a Halifax bus fare?
The adult cash fare is $3.00. Youth (13–17) and seniors (65+) pay $2.25, and children 12 and under ride free. The same fare covers Halifax Transit buses and the harbour ferries.
How do I pay for Halifax Transit?
You can pay with exact cash on board, with paper tickets, or through the HFXgo app, which also sells single rides, multi-ride bundles, and day, weekly and monthly passes. Fare boxes do not give change.
Are transfers free on Halifax Transit?
Yes. A single fare includes free transfers between buses and ferries to complete one connecting trip — ask the driver for a transfer, or use your HFXgo pass.
Does the bus fare cover the Halifax ferry?
Yes. The Halifax–Dartmouth and Woodside ferries are part of Halifax Transit and use the same fares and passes as the buses.
